Dr Rainer Gloeckl holds a degree in sports science and obtained his PhD from the Technical University of Munich. He heads the Research Institute for Pulmonary Rehabilitation at the Schön Klinik Berchtesgadener Land in Schönau am Königssee (Germany).

His scientific and clinical focus lies in the further development and evidence-based design of pulmonary rehabilitation. Dr Gloeckl is actively involved in national and international expert committees: he is a board member of the AG Lungensport in Germany and a member of the international CERT Governance Board. In addition, he serves on several national and international guideline committees, thereby making a significant contribution to quality assurance and the further development of rehabilitation care concepts.
