Dr Lena Tepohl is Director of the Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine Research (IFR) at the University of Ulm. Since May 2020, she has been responsible for the institute’s strategic and scientific direction and has also served as acting managing director for a period.

In her current role, she combines scientific research, project management and organisational leadership in the field of rehabilitation medicine health services research. She previously worked at the IFR for many years, including as a research assistant and head of the ‘Clinical Research’ division, and also has experience as a consultant and project manager in the healthcare sector.

Her research focuses in particular on the development and evaluation of follow-up treatment concepts, the creation of evidence-based guidelines, and the investigation of the effects and efficacy of rehabilitative measures. Another focus of her work is the analysis of predictors of rehabilitation success and health economic issues in the context of rehabilitation.

In addition to her research, Dr Tepohl is involved in teaching and participates in various collaborative projects with clinical and scientific partners, particularly aimed at further developing rehabilitation care and improving the vocational reintegration of patients.
