Prof. Dr. Karin Niedermann Schneider is a professor of physiotherapy specialising in physical activity at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). She heads the Institute of Physiotherapy and the MSc programme in Physiotherapy.

In her current professional role, she combines research, teaching and academic leadership. Her main areas of focus are the promotion of physical activity, evidence-based physiotherapy, and the care of people with rheumatic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), spondyloarthritis (SpA) and osteoarthritis.

In addition, she is a member of various national and international networks, including RESC (ETH Rehabilitation Science), the LIFE – Lucerne Initiative for Functioning, Health and Well-Being (University of Lucerne, based on the WHO concept of functioning) and the National Science Driven Rehab Network.
